Well, since Ash Wednesday is tomorrow I thought it might be a good time to talk about fasting—and not the trendy intermittent fasting stuff you see on podcasts and health blogs (as good as that might be).
Thanks for this, Matt! The point about fasting clearing the mind for prayer is quite interesting, as more research is emerging about the effects of fasting on mental clarity. I recently listened to a podcast episode from the folks at OptimalWork on this topic (link below). And apparently Roman soldiers would even fast all day when they marching to keep them light and clear headed. Grace builds on nature!
